clock lock works (日本語)

clock lock works (English)
Working with a "pappara," never catching a break
Lo-do-lo-do, lan-lan-lah
Every day runs by in a cycle,
And you realize it's just like how a stray cat lives
Somewhere, someone changes places with another
Ma-no-ma-no, lan-lan-lah
And no one ever notices,
busy chasing intently after numbers
Deep in the bottom of my heart,
There is a locked door...
"You're being foolish," I was told,
And I ignored the knocking...
Saying that "it won't change," I give up,
Hurried by the hands of a stopped clock
But in dreams, I'll gladly say,
"I wish upon a star," in all seriousness...
Working with a "tick-tock," a foolish soldier
Gat-tan-gat-tan, lan-lan-lah
Make a choice, ready set go,
And you realize it's all just a black muck
Morning and night switch places
No-ma-no-ma, lan-lan-lah
And no one ever cares,
Greedily chasing after numbers
A faint voice comes through
From beyond the door...
Saying that "it's no use," I stand down,
And mutter in contempt in the corner of the room
Just take me away, anywhere will do
But it's doubtful that a prince would ever come...
"Good evening and good morning to you!"
Someone speaks from beyond the door
"It's fine, even if it's locked..."
"I can talk to you from here, can't I?"
I didn't want to hear anything of the sort
I didn't want to, no, not at all
Hey, hey, don't go anywhere!
Be by me, and talk to me...
Saying that "it's worthless," I lied,
But I still want someone to notice me
I'm so cold, I don't want to touch anyone
No matter what time may pass, the lock will stay locked...
Working out of a casket,
"Well, but at least..." I don't even want to say it
The hands spin on forever,
And the sound of gentle knocking makes me cry...
"Pappara" goes the sound of working with no chance to rest
Lo-do-lo-do, lan-lan-lah
Every day keeps on cycling,
It compares, if you think, to a stray all alone
Somewhere, there's someone switching their job for another's
Ma-no-ma-no, lan-lan-lah
Who knows who, no one noticed them,
They're too busy chasing numbers around
Deep inside, in your heart's innermost core,
You will find that there is a locked door
As they said "You can't believe in such things anymore,"
Only I heard the knock they ignored
To say that "it won't change" is just giving up,
It's wasting your time, trying to hurry the hands of a stopped clock
Were you in your dreams, you would gladly say,
"I shall make a prayer to the stars," and expose your true self
"Tick-tock," a foolish soldier rattles as he works away
Gat-tan-gat-tan, lan-lan-lah
What to choose? Which is best for me?
It compares, if you think, to a mess stained all black
The morning switches with the night during the evening
No-ma-no-ma, lan-lan-lah
Who knows why, no one even cared,
Too busy chasing their numbers of greed
Coming from the room beyond the door,
A faint voice whispers through it once more...
To say that "it's no use" is just standing down,
It's muttering your contempt in the corners of a dark room
Anywhere is fine, just take me away
So much like a prince, it seems, yet while meant to come, does not
"Good evening, and may good mornings come to you!"
Suddenly, there's someone speaking from beyond the door
"Oh, it's fine, the lock's still locking me away..."
"Yet from here I'm reaching to you - can't you reach me, too?"
That's just something that I didn't want to hear
Didn't want to hear, no, I didn't want to hear
Hey, hey, don't go anywhere, I'm still here!
Stay here by my side, come and tell me what it's like...
To say that you're "worthless" is an utter lie,
Although it is sadly a truth, should no one notice nor want you
Heartlessly ignored, left untouchable,
No matter what should come to pass, the lock will ever lock you still
You're taken to the grave, and you're working still
"Well, yes, that is true, but, well..." But there's nothing left for you to say
The hands of the clock will spin eternally,
And the gentle sound of the knocking is left to cry away
* CLICK FOR PRETENTIOUS! ANALYSIS
I have to say, this is relatively straightforward for Hachi, despite some weird sound effects and metaphors.
The merry-go-round and Ferris wheel are probably featured because they go in circles. (Side note: the Ferris wheel and Clocchery at the station both spin counter-clockwise.) Can't, uh... can't really find any significance in the guitar, though.
"Roudou" means "manual labor," so that's probably that. "Gat-tan" is probably related to "gatagata," a rattling sound. "Ma-no-ma-no" and "no-ma-no-ma" follow lines about things switching places. I don't know why that took me so long to notice, seriously. Anyway, those ones weren't really analysis, so...
Rather clearly, the main idea is that the girl is fed up with everyday life. And though we can't entirely trust the PV since it's not by Hachi, she seems quite happy to jump back onto those train tracks. And if you wanted, I suppose you could say something about the irony and symbolicy of her being killed by something that runs on a schedule. Anyway, she won't really do it, since that's just "giving up"; she's still hopeful that her "prince" will come and take her out of the cycle.
When the voice tells her to just talk through the door (read: you can't get out of the cycle, so just deal with it), she's initially disappointed because what she really wants is to open it and actually be with him. But if she just lets him leave, well, she might just become "worthless," and then there's not much hope left of that.
"So even when you die, time goes on...?" If she was actually able to open the door, she'd almost certainly be happier, and things could maybe even change for other people, but it never happens. So is this better or worse than just ignoring the knock in the first place?
