It's quaint how there are religious factions even when it comes to how to handle parrying.

This is exactly why I want to progress so carefully and why it's become a game I'll never clear in my life.
With both Morgott and Alecto, after doing my own parry run, I've learned how to handle moves I wasn't able to solve and want to go back and try it out, but I can't... That is Elden Ring.
I envy young people, wish I'd been born as a young person.

I actualy keep making tiny edits to the logo every time.
I've never even attempted parrying a single Godskin, but I definitely can't do the duo, so I'm ignoring them...

Between having to make a video for a new song, and having to make songs, and having to make Parry in the Forgotten Lands videos, and just plain wanting to enjoy parrying, I've really got my hands full.
Elden Ring parries have difficult timing, but Monster Hunter iais had difficult Special Sheath timing, so yeah, both are difficult.
Since starting the Parry in the Forgotten Lands series, I went back and watched my Margit videos, and found I was able to see all of the attack parry timings.

Whenever I feel like I'm kinda bad at music, of course it can be due to a lack of skill, but a lot of the time it's just a point in time where I lack the sense or energy to listen to music in general and be like "this is good," so I try not to let it get me too down.
Week of feeling like I'm bad at making music but encouraging myself saying I'm great for trying hard.
Saying you don't like it that people say they're bad when they're so good is kinda barking up the wrong tree, because you're seeing the world entirely differently...
When someone super good at art or games or something says they're bad, it doesn't mean they want to be told "that's not true," it means they see a world with plenty of room for them to become even better.
You think "Have I become an expert?", but there's an endless road ahead of you.

I hear Elden Ring's parries are severe compared to other From games, so I wonder what it's like there... I wanna play the others too...
In any game, as you play it more deeply, improvements go from an additive form to a subtractive one, which is rough, but that also means the pleasure when you manage to do it rises dramatically as well, so I can't stop...
Elemer's shield bash animation is fast so it's hard to dodge roll, but a medium shield can block it without letting any damage through, so it's safe and reliable.
Truly the pleasure of going damageless is unparalleled.
Beat him with an unbuffed weapon, parry-only, damageless for the first time... :crying:

Woke up immediately before going drinking again today...
When it's a choice between parry, guard, or roll, it gets complicated and difficult, but guarding has the least lag from the button press, so I'm quick to use it...
It might suit my style more not to use a buckler, but a 100-damage-reduction medium shield so no damage goes through and I actually block when I block.
I practiced Morgott for 15 hours and wasn't able to do it cleanly, but this is where I'm at after 30 minutes on Elemer, so much simpler...
If you induce attacks that are easy to parry at close range, it can become dead simple, but I want to be able to properly respond when an irregular one comes too.

±2 and ±3 key changes feel super natural.
The Kirby in the Forgotten Land song does something kinda interesting where it has a +2 key change before the first chorus, then a -2 key change to enter into the second chorus, it's interesting. (so you can't loop it with just a single chorus)
Of course, this is for use as Parry in the Forgotten Lands BGM. Isn't that obvious?

When I played Monster Hunter Rise, I absolutely couldn't iai Teo's punch, and I got super depressed that maybe it was impossible for my reflexes at my age, but I practiced the heck out of it regardless and became able to sense the patterns leading to the punch, which improved my success rate... Reflexes can be covered for with experience.
Kirby will probably end tonight... Feels lonely coming to the end.

Elden Ring is rough, so I wanna return to Kirby's world, but if I return to Kirby's world I'll have to beat 1:18 on Masked Hammer Treasure, it's rough.
It's the most extreme game, a quiz with three types of questions you have to keep answering in the blink of an eye: attacks you have to input a parry for the instant he holds the sword aloft, attacks you can't parry even if you act instantly so you have to guard, and attacks that'll pierce guard so you have to roll.

I passed the knights damageless and did Niall cleanly up to the halfway mark, but I messed up the latter half and it tearfully went south...

The word "face-up" just isn't linked to a face-up posture in my mind.
There are people who can't immediately understand left and right, and I also sometimes don't remember which is "face-up" and which is "face-down" for a second, so I know the feeling. [The Japanese words in question don't actually have a standard "up" or "down" in them, so all the more reason to mix them up.]

The bosses coming up that I'm certain I want to parry are Niall, Radagon, and Malenia.
Kirby's last-second dodges are super fun too, but it is sort of sad how there aren't many opportunities to get a counter hit from a last-second dodge. (other moves are way too powerful)
My desire to parry is so high I'll never finish Elden Ring in my life, and I haven't beaten it yet, yet I wanna make a new file and start over from the beginning.
This goes for multi-monster quests in Monster Hunter too, but I don't even understand how people can process info well enough to pull off counters against multiple opponents... Truly a technique only chosen humans can perform...
The Godskins seem like they'd be super fun to parry, but I already beat them, so I can't fight them. (Godskin Duo is a no-go)
Morgott was so hellishly difficult to parry that I feel like I can tackle any other parrying...

Of course I'm happy if people take notice of something I put special care into, but I like to think of them not noticing as the default, and them noticing is just bonus points.
I don't think people aren't interested in you or anything just because they don't notice changes - people just take interest in different ways.

If I can make people think "Even though I'm not really sure what changed, aren't you kinda cute today?", that alone makes me happy.
Today at the hospital, a doctor said "Even if a woman changes her eye shadow, you usually can't notice, right?", to which an old lady replied "Real makeup is makeup that others don't notice, so that's ideal," and I super felt the desire to be able to say things like that off the cuff.
Lately I'm feeling intensely regretful that I didn't try harder at games in my 20's.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a dark game that endlessly demands speedruns of you. (it doesn't really demand it)
Tilt-and-Roll Kirby is an evil game, it's nuts.
I worked so hard for this and all I get is 20 coins, what the heck... I'm doing it for honor.
In localized parts, Kirby is harder than Elden Ring.

I'm making a song in secret that should make everybody happy.
As far as Elden Ring, I think it's amazing how it accomodates different kinds of game-likers. You can power-level and play it like "I'm the strongest!", or you can fight opponents underleveled and aim to overpower them with your movement, so everyone can feel good taking whatever approach they desire. And so I walk the path of carnage...
Liking games isn't just about being fond of a wide variety of games, and you could probably say the same in other fields too... After all, I like music, but don't know a lot about it...
Also, I'm fairly aware of how unique my idiosyncracies with games are, which painfully reinforces the feeling that I might not be able to enjoy playing games with others. (but I enjoy playing alone)
I often think about this talking to friends, and it's pretty obvious, but the way you enjoy games can vary so much between people it's wild. "Game-liker" is on the same level of absurdly broad as "animation-liker" or "comic-liker."
All I think about with enemies is how many attacks I can get in.
I progress so meticulously, I'll never finish Elden Ring as long as I live.
