I live in fear of theorists getting mad at me for saying that sort of thing.
An arrangement with this sort of progression runs up against the melody super hard, but if the progression is persuasive enough to push through, it feels like it sounds about right, so like, dissonance?! Who caaaaares! Maybe freely following your heart is one possible answer... (the final part that descends in whole tones)
