LOSER (from Kenshi Yonezu's diary)

My new single LOSER / Number Nine recently released. Has everyone gotten their hands on it? My first music in a year. A year is pretty long, but it's pretty scary how it felt like the blink of an eye.

I thought I'd write something about the songs, but I talked a lot in interviews, and I don't feel like getting new information out of my head now, so please read the interviews. You can read the below two online.

I recently had a special on a TV show named ZIP!, and there was a person who responded to a street interview who listened to my music and said "it can make me positive," which made me very happy. I'm always thinking it'd be good if the music I make can be somehow positive for the people who listen to it. A band-aid when you get a scrape, a catapult to fly through the sky, the North Star to keep you from getting lost; it doesn't matter what it is, I want to be like a prayer someone can use for safety. The same applies to these three songs. Many of the songs I make come from a negative place, and I'm often told "well, they're ultimately fairy-taley, right?", but I hold onto the belief that the bigger that negative portion is, the stronger the recoil toward positive becomes. I hold onto the belief that because I'm in a dark room, I'm able to unerringly find bright things, and crave them again. If people will call the music that comes of it "music that can make me positive," nothing could make me happier.
